I know your life is busier than ever so I get that it is not always so easy to eat healthy. BUT not so fast partner. I HAVE A SOLUTION! In fact, I make this smoothie several times a week. Here is my Fast & Yummy - Healthy Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie recipe. Yes, it tastes like an oatmeal cookie. No, there is no oatmeal cookie in it. But the best part is, you can prepare the dry ingredients the night before, place it in your refrigerator so you can just grab it in the morning. Add the liquid to the mix and blend. Easy, fast, and filling!! Not to mention healthy! Sometimes I make this smoothie when I have a sweet tooth and it satisfies me every time!
Fast & Yummy - Healthy Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie Recipe:
- 1 - 1/2 cups of rice milk, almond milk, or organic milk
- 1 tbsp - chia seeds
- 1 tbsp - flaxseeds
- 4 - 5 walnuts
- vanilla vegan protein powder or vanilla whey protein (from grass-fed cows)
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup of organic dark leafy greens (rainbow swish chard, kale, spinach etc.)
- 1 ripe banana
- 1/4 cup gluten-free oatmeal
- splash of cinnamon
Add to blender. It is best to have a really high powered blender so you can break it all down. (I use the Vitamix)
Add ice and blend it. You can add water to the smoothie to make it less think.
The protein powder brands that I like are VEGA Viva Vanilla plant based protein and Dr Mercola Pure Power Whey Protein.
